Wow, another great music artist has passed away. Found out a few hours ago that singer George Michael passed away at his home in England.
George Michael, the British bubble-gum teen idol turned international pop star known for his flamboyant style and sexually provocative lyrics, died on Christmas in England.
He was 53. A publicist reported the death but provided no cause.
Michael, whose real name was Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, first stepped into the global spotlight in the early ’80s as a member of Wham!, a duo whose brand of blue-eyed soul produced a series of lively hits, including “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” “Careless Whisper” and the enduring holiday ballad “Last Christmas.”
I’ve been a fan of George Michael since his Wham days. One of my favorite Wham songs is Everything She Wants.
Check out Hand to Mouth from his cd/album Faith.
Rest in Peace George Michael.
Heard this song on the train going home from work today. Wham’s Everything She Wants has been a favorite of mine for years. The song was released in 1984. Everything She Wants and Careless Whisper are my favorite Wham songs. Wham was a part of the 80’s British invasion. I was a huge Wham and later George Michael fan during the 1980’s. Still love his music.
You can find the song on Wham’s Make It Big cd.
You can also find this version of Everything She Wants on George Michael’s Twenty Five cd.
If you’re looking for the best of Wham and George Michael this is the cd to check out. It’s excellent.
