Free World by Jesse Johnson

I know it’s not Throwback Thursday but I couldn’t wait.  I heard this song on my ipod this afternoon and couldn’t wait to post the video.  It’s Free World by Jesse Johnson.

This was my jam back in the 80’s.  Jesse was a huge part of the Minneapolis Sound during the 1980’s.  Artists involved in the Minneapolis Sound which was pioneered by Prince included Jesse Johnson, The Time, Alexander O’Neal, Vanity 6, The Family, Sheila E., TaMara & The Seen and Cherrelle just to name a few.  Jesse was a guitarist in the original lineup of The Time. Free World didn’t originally appear on a Jesse Johnson album/cd but you can find it on the Jesse Johnson Ultimate Collection cd.

Jesse had other hits including Be Your Man and Can You Help Me.

Check out the Free World video.
