The surveillance camera footage shows a dark BMW pull up outside the security booth at the FedEx Ground distribution center in Beltsville, according to court documents.
The driver gets out, a man police say is Fabian Shim, 40, and walks toward the booth, where Shim’s ex-girlfriend, Reina Natasha Lynch, was working alone early Saturday. The camera does not record what happened in the booth. Lynch, 26, was later found fatally shot, and Prince George’s County police say Shim, the father of one of her two children, was the shooter, charging documents say.
Shim, of the 6800 block of Holly Berry Court near District Heights, has been charged with first-degree murder and was being held without bond yesterday in the Upper Marlboro detention center.
Lynch’s mother, Marlyn Evans, said Shim and her daughter had gone back to court in the past month as part of an ongoing dispute over child support payments. She said a judge ordered Shim to make higher payments, of about $500 a month. Shim is the father of Lynch’s 7-year-old daughter, Alexia, and his child support payments came sporadically, if ever, Evans said.
Well I’ll be damned. This was all about child support payments. So he had to murder the mother of his child? Two children are now without a mother.
Shim, who was engaged and living with another woman, was further angered by the possibility that Lynch might have been pregnant by him, according to charging documents. Lynch’s mother said she had not heard that her daughter might have been pregnant.
I’m glad to read that he’s being held without bond. This fool should spend the rest of his life behind bars.
