The opening ceremonies for the 2008 Summer Olympics took place today in Beijing, China. 

 
For some reason I haven’t been that psyched about the Summer Olympics this year.  I’ve always looked forward to watching the Summer Olympics in the past.  It might have something to do with all the stuff going on in China.  Maybe when the competitions start I’ll get excited.  Every four years I look forward to watching gymnastics, swimming, track & field and diving.  The past few Summer Olympics have gotten me interested in other sports as well that I never paid attention to before.  This includes rowing, the equestrian competition, beach volleyball & volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics and synchronized swimming.
