Arnelle Simpson knocks out her dad

Posted by: ladyrayne on: August 31, 2008

Looks like things continue to go badly for O.J. Simpson.  Sometimes you wonder if his getting away with murder comes back to haunt him every so often.  Just last Sunday his oldest daughter Arnelle punched his lights out after an argument about O.J.’s girlfriend.

Be careful what you pray for

Posted by: ladyrayne on: August 31, 2008

Cause it might come back to bite you.
As we all know by now Senator Barack Obama gave his acceptance speech last Thursday evening at the Democratic Convention in Denver.

The weather was warm that day but there was no rain.  Well wouldn’t you know it, a couple of weeks earlier the socially conservative Christian group Focus on [...]

On August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast of the United States and over 1,800 people died due mostly to flooding.  Now in August 2008 we have another hurricane, Hurricane Gustav heading for the Gulf Coast that has been labeled a Category 4 storm.

Who is this guy?

Posted by: ladyrayne on: August 30, 2008

I’ve been watching the U.S. Open today.  The third round at Louis Armstrong Stadium had Gael Monfils (France) vs. David Nalbandian (Argentina).  I’ve never seen or heard of Gael Monfils before.  Monfils upset 7th ranked Nalbandain 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. Monfils was born in France and he’s the son of Caribbean parents. A former Junior Grand Slam player, [...]

Unruly Brits

Posted by: ladyrayne on: August 27, 2008

Who knew?  According to this New York Times article a certain segment of the British population is giving Great Britain a bad name with their unruly behavior in European resort areas.

The Democratic National Convention

Posted by: ladyrayne on: August 27, 2008

The Democratic National Convention started in Denver on Monday.  On Monday I watched it on our local PBS station.  I then read that the coverage on C-Span was great if you didn’t want to listen to the usual talking heads that you see on CNN, MSNBC and FoxNews.  So since yesterday I’ve been watching the convention [...]

Articulate, bright & clean

Posted by: ladyrayne on: August 27, 2008

I know I’m late on this.  The Senator who described presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama as articulate, bright and clean  earlier this year, Senator Joe Biden, has been chosen as Senator Obama’s vice presidential running mate.

The end of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics

Posted by: ladyrayne on: August 26, 2008

The Olympics are over. So what’s a person to do now? I enjoyed the past two weeks even though NBC’s Olympic coverage was so so. While the network showed extensive coverage of swimming and gymnastics which I do enjoy watching, the coverage for other sports seemed somewhat choppy. It’s like we got bits and pieces [...]
